Owner, Director of Sales and Marketing
Vegin’ Out, Mary Sue’s Cookie Company
Dan Boissy joined Vegin’ Out (www.veginout.com), Los Angeles’ best vegan weekly meal delivery service, in 2000 and became co-owner of the company with his brother, nutritional chef Tim Boissy. Since then, Dan has taught himself to manage each aspect of the business, from marketing and accounting to chopping vegetables. Dan has expanded the company from a venture in the brothers’ apartment to a commercial kitchen and office space in Los Angeles. Dan and Tim also founded Mary Sue’s Cookie Company in 2005, and now include fresh-baked vegan cookies with each Vegin’ Out order. Dan’s vision to provide Southern Californians with fresh, healthy, vegan cuisine has been rewarded by sales that have increased 400 percent in the last three years. Having been bitten by the business bug, Dan plans to build a thriving portfolio of healthy and environmentally friendly companies.
Dan is also a professional saxophonist who has performed throughout North America and Europe at venues such as The Hollywood Bowl, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Windows on The World on the 107th floor of the World Trade Center, House of Blues in Orlando and Hollywood, numerous music festivals, and was a member of the Coconut Club Orchestra at Merv Griffin’s Coconut Club at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Dan continues to perform all over the country while running Vegin’ Out and maintaining the blog The Entrepreneurial Artist, theentrepreneurialartist.wordpress.com.
